We, the undersigned artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, developers, music professionals, and fans, call for the creation of an independent organization dedicated to AI-assisted music.
AI-assisted music should be recognized for its artistic excellence while held to meaningful standards of consent, disclosure, attribution, and fair compensation.
We support the formation of a nonprofit, globally representative AI Music Academy that will:
- Present annual AI Music Awards that honor human-directed artistic and technical excellence.
- Publish public eligibility rules and require transparent disclosure of relevant AI use.
- Protect artists from unauthorized voice, likeness, and identity imitation.
- Give independent artists, producers, engineers, and creators a real voice in governance.
- Build education, resources, mentorship, and advocacy for the AI music community.
We also support an independent AI Music Charts Board that will publish verified rankings using transparent methodology, credible data partnerships, anti-fraud safeguards, and clear distinctions between popularity, artistic merit, and ethical disclosure.
Our belief: innovation and integrity can coexist. The next era of music should be creator-led, consent-based, transparent, and open to the world.
